Let's be honest, diarrhoea's never really something we like to talk about, but when we're riding overseas in different countries doing what we do, there's every likelihood that we could be hit with a nasty case of the shits. If you've never had them, they ain't fun.
There's actually a virus called 'Travellers Diarrhoea' (we'll call it TD from herein) which, according to the NHS, affects 40% of travellers. Symptoms of this 'orrible bug include cramps, nausea, bloating and of course diarrhoea, and it can be accompanied by a fever or bloody stools (not the type you sit on). In fact the NHS reckons that 26% of travellers actively avoid countries where the risk of getting TD is high.
